Biographical Sketch
HERMAN T. TAVANI, PHD, is Professor of Philosophy at
An active member of several professional associations,
Professor Tavani recently served as President of the Northern New England
Philosophical Association (NNEPA) and as Secretary/Treasurer of the Association
for Computing’s Special Interest Group on Computers and Society (ACM
SIGCAS). He has chaired or co-chaired
regional, national, and international conferences and symposia, and has served
on planning and program committees for numerous conferences in applied
ethics. He has also served on the editorial
boards of several journals and is currently Book Review Editor for the journal Ethics
and Information Technology.
