General Chemistry at Rivier College


General Chemistry at Rivier College is a two semester course of study with a three credit "lecture" and a one credit laboratory each semester. This two semester sequence (CHE104 and CHE105) covers basic terminology, atomic and molecular structure, nature of chemical bonds, states of matter, principles of equilibrium, oxidation-reduction, types of solutions, thermochemistry, and representative elements. Designed for students who intend to take additional chemistry courses.

Prerequisites: One year of high school chemistry, or CHE102, and two years of high school mathematics (algebra and above).
